Shenzhen Disrupts Global Innovation Landscape with Borderless Innovation Centre

Healthcare, education and agriculture resources in Shenzhen boosted by smart health, smart ageing and smart home/city innovations around the world

19th Nov 2015 – Borderless Healthcare Group launches its second Borderless Innovation Centre in Shenzhen in less than 12 months after setting up the inaugural centre in Shanghai in Jan 2015. China’s development of Borderless Innovation Centre nationally will be joined by an accelerated development of Borderless Innovation Centre globally in US, Europe, Australia and Israel etc.

Each Borderless Innovation Centre houses a unique combination of TV studio, an incubator/accelerator, an interactive training centre and a smart home experience centre. Problems or challenges in the society are fed into the centre to trigger global hackathons to find innovative solutions which will be marketed to Chinese and global investors via the group’s Borderless Tech Show. Interested investors and buyers will then meet the innovator during the demo day held at the centre to formalise investment and partnership formula. The presence of a Borderless Innovation Centre in Shenzhen will allow global capital and innovations to support innovations in Shenzhen and vice versa. The transition of the world from a vertical economy to a horizontal economy will occur where open innovation is necessary to drive the new civilisation of the world. Shenzhen’s current bricks and mortar manufacturing base can converge with global innovations, services and protocols to leapfrog its position as the global leader in the development of the new IOT generation where artificial intelligence, personalised services and content all converge to provide personalisation to the consumers. Such trend will work in tandem with the development of intelligent home and city to provide consumers a seamless continuum of personalised services and content.

The Shenzhen’s Borderless Innovation Centre is expected to be built in Q1 2016 and will present global innovators to work closely with manufacturers in Shenzhen to create some first-of-its-kind O2O innovations for the global market. Such innovations are expected to transform real estate development landscape in Shenzhen which may create Shenzhen as the default “smart ageing hub” for Hong Kong elderly people. The potential reality of Hong Kong elderly people spending most of their time as silver consumers in Shenzhen while visiting Hong Kong intermittently to visit their children and grandchildren without dislodging from the Hong Kong healthcare system may lead to a sustainable symbiotic solution between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and may even be of geo-political significance.
